Bible Contradictions?: The Book of ActsSeries: Bible Contradictions?
For the last two weeks, we have been studying several possible contradictions in the gospels. Some of these could have been quite embarrassing, with the seeming inability of a gospel writer to count correctly or record the color of Jesus' robe accurately. One issue could have had a more serious impact on our understanding of Jesus' death with the question of when the veil of the temple was torn in two. We have thus considered ten different problem texts from the gospels. Although the apparent contradictions in the Book of Acts are not as numerous as in the gospels, they can still be troubling. Such problems could again make the Bible seem foolish. Today, we will see another possible instance of poor counting, and also potential inconsistencies in conversion accounts and deaths.
