In the month of February, many think of love and romance. Especially as the 14th of February approaches. Considering this, it may be expected that a few words about love would be found in this bulletin.
Keep in mind that the greatest example of love was shown by Jesus Christ. He gave of Himself to the point of death so that we may be able to believe in Him, and have everlasting life. The text of John 3:16 tells us, “"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (NKJV).
This was an example of sacrificial love. This was a loving act that required a lot of suffering, humility, and a recognition of mankind's need for a savior.
The fact that Jesus did this does not not give us a license to sin against God in the name of love. Such “love” should not be confused with lust. During this time of people thinking of love and romance more than normal, lets strive to help individuals see the sacrificial love of Christ by our words and actions.
